About the Course Instructor

Ashirbad is a Senior Associate in the Public Policy team at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, where he advises and assists leading domestic and international clients on technology law, financial law, and policy-related mandates. He previously worked with J. Sagar Associates in their General Corporate practice and as a Lecturer at Jindal Global University, where he taught industry-specific courses on Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities Regulations.
He read for his LL.M. at the University of Cambridge on a full scholarship and was the recipient of five prestigious awards: the Prathiba M. Singh Cambridge Trust Scholarship, the J. N. Tata Endowment for the Higher Education of Indians (including the Gift Award, Loan Endowment, and Travel Allowance components), the Kemp-Gooderson Law Award, the Hilary Morse Bursary Fund, and the Guy Beringer Bursary Fund.
He was admitted to St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, and was elected Co-President of its postgraduate student committee (MCR) by the student body. He completed his undergraduate studies at the National Law University Odisha (NLUO), graduating as one of the top rank-holders of his batch with two gold medals: for all-round performance and academic excellence, respectively. At NLUO, Ashirbad served in various leadership capacities across college committees and won multiple competitions, including the NUJS-HSF Corporate Law Moot Court Competition, national debates, and other co-curricular events.
He writes regularly on a broad range of technology and privacy-related issues, with publications appearing in leading legal journals as well as reputed national dailies.
